the short version: be kind, do not steal the drawings, and if something goes wrong tell us before you tell a lawyer. we will almost certainly just fix it.

These terms are an agreement between you and ani mal and friends ("we", "us", "our"). They apply when you use animalandfriends.com or buy anything from us. By using the site or placing an order, you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

1. Who may use the site

You may browse at any age. To place an order you must be at least 18, or have a parent or guardian place it for you. By ordering you confirm that the payment method is yours to use and that the information you give us is accurate.

2. What we sell, and how handmade things behave

every shirt is pressed by hand, one at a time. small differences are the point, not a defect.

We print our own designs onto blank garments in very small batches. Because each one is made by hand, the placement of a print can vary slightly from one garment to the next, and colours can look a little different on your screen than they do in the room. Product photographs and mock-ups are representative rather than exact. Variation of this kind is normal and is not a fault. Anything that genuinely is a fault is covered in our shipping and returns policy.

Garment blanks are made by their own manufacturers and carry their own care instructions and sizing. Follow the care instructions; DTF transfers do not enjoy a hot tumble dryer.

3. Stock

The quantities shown on the shop page are real. When a size shows as sold out, we do not have it. In the rare case where two people buy the last one at the same moment, or where our count is wrong, we will contact you and either wait until we can make it, offer you an alternative, or refund you in full. That choice is yours.

4. Orders

Placing an order is an offer to buy. Our confirmation email acknowledges that we received it. The contract is formed when we accept your order, which we do by posting it. Until then we may decline or cancel an order and refund you in full, including where an item is unavailable, where a price or description was wrong, where we cannot ship to your address, or where we reasonably suspect fraud or resale.

5. Prices, payment and errors

Prices are in US dollars. The total shown at checkout, including postage, is what you pay; we add nothing afterwards. Payment is taken by Stripe, and you are also subject to Stripe's terms when you pay. We never see or store your card details.

We try hard to get prices right. If an item is listed at an obviously incorrect price, we may cancel the order and refund you rather than fulfil it, and we will tell you what happened. We may change prices at any time, but never for an order already placed.

6. Shipping, returns and refunds

Our shipping and returns policy forms part of these terms. Please read it. In short: we ship within the United States, we make things by hand so give us a few days, and if something arrives wrong or damaged we will fix it.

7. Our artwork

ani, mal, bluebell, the logo, the little scenes: all ours. please do not put them on your own merch.

Every illustration, character, name, logo, photograph, and line of writing on this site belongs to ani mal and friends and is protected by copyright and trade mark law. Buying a shirt buys you a shirt. It does not transfer any rights in the artwork printed on it.

You may not, without our written permission: reproduce, trace, redraw or adapt our artwork; print it onto anything; sell, resell or distribute our products commercially; use our characters or names as your own branding; or train an automated system on our images. You may absolutely photograph yourself wearing our things and post it anywhere you like. That is the best part.

8. Things you send us

If you send us a message, a photograph, or a drawing of Mal you did at work, you keep ownership of it. You give us permission to read it, reply to it, and keep it with your correspondence. We will not publish anything you send us, or use it in our marketing, unless we ask you first and you say yes. Please do not send us anything you do not have the right to send.

9. Things you may not do

• Attempt to break into, disrupt, overload or probe the site or its systems.
• Scrape, harvest or bulk-download the site or its images by automated means.
• Place orders fraudulently, or with a payment method that is not yours.
• Buy our products to resell them.
• Use the site for anything unlawful, or to harass anyone.

10. Other people's sites

Where we link to somewhere else, we are not responsible for what is there. Stripe's checkout, in particular, is operated by Stripe under Stripe's own terms and privacy policy.

11. The site itself

We are a small shop, not a utility company. The site may be unavailable from time to time for maintenance or for reasons outside our control, and we may change or withdraw any part of it. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, and none of this affects an order you have already paid for.

12. Disclaimer

Except where the law says otherwise, the site and everything on it are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here limits your rights under consumer protection law, and nothing here affects our obligation to put right an item that arrives faulty.

13. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ani mal and friends is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of your use of the site or of any product bought from it. Our total liability for any claim relating to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Some states do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

14. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the site, or your infringement of anyone's rights.

15. If we disagree

email us first. genuinely. almost everything gets sorted in one message.

Before starting any formal proceeding, please email support@animalandfriends.com describing the problem and what you would like us to do about it. We will reply within 14 days and try to resolve it. Most problems end here, usually with a replacement or a refund.

If that does not work, either of us may bring a claim in a court of competent jurisdiction. You may always bring a qualifying claim in small claims court instead.

16. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. The state and federal courts located in Tennessee have jurisdiction, and both of us submit to it, except that you may bring a claim in your own local small claims court if it qualifies. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer laws where you live.

17. The usual small print

• Changes. We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. The version in force when you place an order is the version that governs that order.
• Severability. If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
• No waiver. If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to enforce it later.
• Whole agreement. These terms, together with the privacy policy and the shipping and returns policy, are the whole agreement between us about the site and your order.
• Assignment. You may not transfer these terms to anyone else. We may transfer them if the shop changes hands, on the same terms.
• Force majeure. Neither of us is responsible for delays caused by events genuinely outside our control, such as extreme weather, carrier failures or supply shortages.
